As a doctor, Peggy Mädler has a knack for making hearts beat faster. But wait, she actually earned her doctorate in cultural studies! As for the heartbeat thing, she prefers to use cybernetics to explain it in her latest novel Selbstregulierung des Herzens (Self-Regulation of the Heart). Looks like her explanation is pretty solid, because Peggy Mädler has been nominated for the German Book Prize. She also enjoys working with texts written by others, which is why she’s involved in dramaturgy as well.
